A year after committing $25 million to DonorsChoose and Teach For America during Teacher Appreciation Week, Ripple’s education initiative has supported 48,108 classroom projects nationwide, benefiting over 675,000 students, with 86% from low-income schools.
The $15 million allocated to DonorsChoose funded teacher-requested classroom resources from basic supplies to science kits across rural and urban areas, while the remaining $10 million to Teach For America supported stipends for 2,300 first-year teachers, reaching 141,600 students directly. Most of the $25 million was distributed in RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, marking one of the largest nonprofit grants delivered through blockchain technology.
