Robinhood Allows Investors to Connect Third-Party AI Agents for Automated Trading

HOOD-0.72%

According to CNBC, Robinhood announced on May 27 that it will allow investors to connect third-party AI agents to execute investment strategies with minimal human intervention. The move brings automated investment capabilities historically available only to institutional hedge funds to retail investors.

The platform has implemented safeguards to address risks, including segregating AI-driven accounts from traditional trading accounts, requiring dedicated capital to activate trading, providing real-time transaction notifications, and allowing clients to disconnect agents immediately. Robinhood also established limits, manual approval processes, and fraud monitoring systems to maintain investor control and review user instructions and agent behavior in case of disputes.
