Russia Conditions EU Dialogue on Respect for Interests, May 26

GateNews
According to Russian state media CCTV News, on May 26, Russia's Foreign Ministry European Affairs Director Maslennikov stated that the prospect of EU-Russia engagement depends on whether the European bloc is willing to reconsider its anti-Russia diplomatic stance and fully respect Moscow's legitimate interests. Maslennikov emphasized that Russia has never rejected dialogue with the EU and consistently advocates resolving differences through diplomatic channels. However, Europe is not prepared to become part of Ukraine peace negotiations, having neither resumed dialogue with Russia nor reached internal consensus on negotiation terms. Russian Ambassador-at-Large Miroshnik added that Moscow has not seen any European peace proposals, only demands for "surrender and compensation."
