Russian Forces Attack Ukrainian Ports, Over 100,000 Users Left Without Power on July 23

According to Russian Defense Ministry, on July 23, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian ports with two ships struck, and launched strikes on energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine, causing power outages affecting over 100,000 users. Russian military also reported controlling Ardylynyy in the Kharkiv region. Ukraine responded with drone attacks on Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries warehouse. Ukraine's Armed Forces Deputy Commander stated the country will acquire laser weapons within 2-3 months with superior air-defense capability compared to machine guns. Separately, President Zelenskyy met with U.S. Middle East envoys Whitcomb and Kushner to discuss restarting negotiations with Russia, while Ukraine's outgoing military commander confirmed the nation has recovered 700 square kilometers of territory this year.
