Sam Bankman-Fried Never Admitted Wrongdoing, Says Prison Cellmate Michael Avenatti

According to Michael Avenatti, Sam Bankman-Fried's former cellmate, on June 8, the imprisoned FTX founder never once admitted any wrongdoing during their time together. In a series of posts on X, Avenatti said redemption begins with accepting responsibility, and without that admission, a pardon request carries little weight. Avenatti acknowledged Bankman-Fried as a technology visionary but argued his judgment was flawed; had he hired experienced executives to guide operations, FTX might never have collapsed. Bankman-Fried formally applied for a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, who stated in January he has no intention of granting clemency. The former crypto executive is currently serving a 25-year sentence.
