According to BlockBeats, Seagate Technology's management delivered a forceful rebuttal to market pessimism on July 29 during an earnings call. CEO Dave Mosley committed to achieving revenue growth in FY2027 exceeding FY2026 levels, with an expected increase of 34% year-over-year. CFO Gianluca Romano stated the company will achieve sequential revenue growth and gross margin expansion throughout FY2027.

Nearline hard drive capacity has been locked in through long-term supply agreements through 2028, with customers expressing increasing willingness to extend planning into 2029. For the September quarter, the company guided gross margin to approximately 57% and operating margin to approximately 50%, with incremental gross margins significantly exceeding 60%. Romano confirmed early HAMR customer promotional pricing will completely phase out in the September quarter, further boosting average selling prices.
