Singapore Police and 7 Crypto Exchanges Block Scams, Prevent $4.2M in Losses for 145 Victims

According to ChainCatcher, Singapore's police anti-fraud center and cyber investigations unit partnered with Coinbase, Coinhako, Gemini, Independent Reserve, OKX, StraitsX, and Upbit to prevent cryptocurrency scams. Using blockchain analysis tools from Chainalysis and TRM Labs, the agencies conducted over 145 targeted interventions via phone and in-person outreach, blocking potential losses exceeding $4.2 million. Coinbase Singapore announced the operation on X on July 10. Singapore police stated they will continue collaborating with crypto exchanges and private sector partners to combat cybercrime.
