According to Blind workplace community and company data, SK Hynix's estimated operating profit of 100–130 trillion won this year is driving per-employee bonuses of approximately 6 billion won ($430,000 USD) for its 3.45 million employees. Based on a 10% profit-sharing bonus structure, this exceeds Seoul's average monthly salary of 4.3 million won ($3,000 USD). Matchmaking agencies report that SK Hynix employees now rank alongside doctors and lawyers in social status, with employees on Blind sharing that dating inquiries have surged dramatically.
The bonus structure has introduced unintended consequences: since bonuses are tied to attendance days, parental leave is viewed as foregone income. Male parental leave usage at the company declined from 2.8% in 2023 to 2% in 2025, with one couple posting that the wife's two-year parental leave would result in approximately 3 billion won in lost bonuses.
