Solana Agave 4.0 Officially Rolls Out to Mainnet Validators, Cuts Turbine Rebroadcast Latency to 0.8ms

SOL-2.74%

According to Anza, Solana’s core development team, Agave 4.0 client upgrade officially rolled out to mainnet validators today. The release significantly improves network performance, reducing transmission latency and switching transaction submissions to QUIC protocol only. The Turbine rebroadcast delay drops from 600ms to approximately 0.8ms following the introduction of XDP technology, laying groundwork for higher throughput. Additional updates include async optimizations to replay stage performance, voting transactions no longer using static compute unit cost models—freeing additional block capacity—and activation of p-token support (releasing approximately 13% block capacity) and Stake Program v5 (raising minimum stake threshold from 1 lamport to 1 SOL).
