South Korea Announces Future Response Fund Strategy, Prioritizes Three Mega Projects

On July 29, South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister Park Hong-geun announced the establishment of a Future Response Fund to serve as a strategic investment platform, channeling surplus tax revenue into key growth areas including youth development, economic dynamism, local regions, education, and talent. According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the government will provide full support to three major mega projects while concentrating investment in landmark initiatives aimed at addressing polarization and expanding growth potential. The ministry also forecasted significant increases in tax revenue for both 2026 and 2027.
