South Korea Fines Bithumb 210 Million Won Over Unauthorized Overseas Data Transfers

According to Korea Herald reporting, South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission fined crypto exchange Bithumb 210 million won (approximately $136,000) over unauthorized overseas transfers of user data. The violations involved sharing member numbers, USDT order details, user names and wallet addresses with BingX and 13 other foreign exchanges without obtaining separate user consent. The PIPC also issued a corrective order alongside the financial penalty.
