According to Guru Club, South Korea's Finance Minister Koo Hwan-jung announced on July 6 that the government will advance regulatory reforms to accelerate artificial intelligence application in the services sector. The finance ministry aims to enhance the competitiveness of services, which account for 60% of South Korea's GDP.
Koo stated that AI-driven transformation is reshaping services through integration with manufacturing, spurring public service innovation, and changing daily life. The government will soon enable AI agents to conduct testing throughout shopping processes and provide policy support for emerging mobility services such as urban air transport and autonomous driving. AI will also be introduced in public services including taxation and administrative operations.
