South Korean Semiconductor ETF Daily Trading Plummets 77% in Two Months, Investors Shift to Top Stocks

According to Korea Exchange data released on July 23, daily trading volume for South Korea's 55 listed semiconductor-related ETFs fell to 2.07 trillion Korean won, down 77% from 8.91 trillion won on May 29. Meanwhile, net assets under management for both domestic and international semiconductor ETFs declined 12.6% to 54.24 trillion won over the same period.

Retail investors are shifting from diversified semiconductor sector ETFs toward single large-cap stocks. Major products like TIGER Semiconductor TOP 10 saw daily trading drop 68.3%, while single-stock leveraged ETFs for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix grew 81.9% in AUM, reflecting concentrated bets on memory chip leaders expected to benefit most from artificial intelligence investment expansion.
