South Korea's Crypto Trading Volume Shrinks to 2% of KOSPI on May 29

According to Daily Economic News, South Korea's crypto market trading volume has shrunk to just 2% of the KOSPI's (South Korea's benchmark equity index) activity, marking a stark reversal from last year. On May 29, the KOSPI recorded daily trading of 118.267 trillion Korean won, while the five major Korean crypto exchanges generated only 2.713 trillion won in 24-hour volume. The contrast is dramatic: since July last year, KOSPI trading surged 680% while crypto market volume plummeted 84%, signaling a massive capital shift from digital assets to traditional equity markets.
