South Korea's financial regulators, comprising the Financial Services Commission, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Korea Exchange, launched a search into listed medical device company AlphaAI (formerly Solgobimedical) on July 10. The joint task force is investigating the company for allegedly issuing false disclosures and obtaining illegal gains by inflating its stock price through announcements of expansion into artificial intelligence business. The search focused on AlphaAI's headquarters in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, targeting accounting records and internal documents.
