According to South Korea's central bank data released on July 22, average household net assets in 2025 reached 274.7 million won (approximately $185,600), rising over 9% year-over-year, a significant acceleration from the 3% growth recorded in 2024. The Seoul Composite Index (KOSPI) surged nearly 76% for the full year, marking its largest annual gain since 1999 and substantially outpacing the S&P 500's approximately 17% and MSCI Asia-Pacific's roughly 25% returns. The rally was primarily driven by gains in stock and real estate prices, alongside a cyclical recovery in the semiconductor industry.
