South Korea's June Exports Surpass $102.25B Record, Semiconductor Shipments Jump 199.5%

According to Hana Securities analysis, South Korea's June exports reached $102.25 billion, surging 70.9% year-over-year and marking the first time monthly exports exceeded $100 billion. Semiconductor exports jumped 199.5% to $44.82 billion. Despite recent weakness in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares, analysts note the sell-off reflects portfolio rebalancing rather than collapsed AI demand. DDR4 and DDR5 memory prices remained firm in early July, with DDR4 spot prices rising 1.26% in one week, signaling underlying supply-demand strength. Foreign investors sold $98.8 billion of Korean stocks in the first half of 2026, while the National Pension Service faces a potential asset reallocation affecting market dynamics.
