South Korea's KOSPI index has surged 100% since the start of 2026, marking its strongest performance since the internet bubble peak and the industrial boom of the late 1980s. The index, propelled by gains in SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics, has climbed from 5,000 to 8,000 points in just several months. On Wednesday, the index rose 5.1%.
