According to Maeil Business Newspaper, South Korea's large-cap KOSPI index plunged 25.79% over the past three weeks through July 14, with major semiconductor stocks suffering steep declines. Samsung Electronics fell 25.6%, SK Hynix dropped 34.46%, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics plummeted 43.45%. Hyundai Motor declined 26.94%. The broader KOSPI index closed up 0.73% at 6,856.83 on July 14, while mid-cap and small-cap indices retreated 10.47% and 5.83% respectively over the same period.
