South Korea's National Pension Buys 370B Won of SK Hynix as Stock Plunges 33% This Month

According to Korea Exchange data released on July 20, South Korea's National Pension Service and affiliated pension funds purchased approximately 370 billion won worth of SK Hynix shares this month despite semiconductor sector weakness. The purchase reflects the fund's view that SK Hynix's stock decline has been excessive relative to its position in the global high-bandwidth memory market. SK Hynix fell 4.23% on July 20 to 1.764 million won, bringing its July losses to 33.43%. The broader KOSPI index declined 4.46% to 6516.27 on the day, with all top 36 stocks trading lower.
