According to Yonhapnews, South Korea's President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Brazil on July 27 for a state visit, the first by a South Korean president in 11 years. Brazilian President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva welcomed Lee with an embrace and official ceremony at the presidential palace in Brasília, with defense ministers and government officials from both nations in attendance. The two leaders previously met in June at the G7 summit in Evian, France, and in February when Lula visited South Korea, marking their third meeting this year. Bilateral talks are expected to cover rare earth mineral supply chain cooperation and potential resumption of Korea-Mercosur trade negotiations.
