South Korea's Ruling Party Hosts Digital Asset Tax Emergency Review Forum on May 7

On May 7 at 3:30 p.m., South Korea's ruling Democratic Party (People Power Party) will hold an emergency review forum on digital asset taxation at the National Assembly in Seoul. The forum, titled "Digital Asset Taxation: Emergency Review Dialogue," will be sponsored by the Digital Asset Exchange Joint Council (DAXA). Keynote speaker will be Oh Moon-sung, professor at Kyung Hee University and chairman of the Korean Tax Policy Association. The ruling party officially adopted the abolition of digital asset taxation as its party platform in March when floor leader Song Eon-seok introduced an amendment to the Income Tax Act to eliminate such taxes.
