Spain's Avila Wildfire Hits Record Size, Burns 50,000 Hectares on July 26

According to Spain's Interior Ministry, Avila province's wildfire burned approximately 50,000 hectares on July 26, becoming Spain's largest recorded wildfire. Central Spain's wildfires have destroyed a cumulative 77,000 hectares of land, with additional large-scale fires continuing to burn in neighboring Toledo province as firefighters work to prevent the fires from merging.
