Survey: Majority of Economists Expect Lagarde to Complete ECB Term by October 2027

According to a Bloomberg survey released on July 16, about two-thirds of economists surveyed expect European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde to complete her eight-year term, which expires in October 2027, without stepping down early. Despite recurring speculation since last year about a potential early departure—fueled by reports in February that she might leave before her mandate ends—the survey indicates most economists believe she will remain in office through the end of her tenure.
