According to Reuters, on Tuesday (July 7), Synopsys notified major chipmakers including Samsung, SK Hynix, Kioxia, and Qorvo that certain manufacturing control software will enter end-of-life (EOL) status. The company will discontinue updates to products including Equipment Engineering System (EES) and Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), focusing resources on AI chip design instead. The decision, announced between April and May, affects over 10 semiconductor customers.
