Syria Rejects Trump Proposal to Deploy Military to Lebanon

According to Syria's interim government president Bashar al-Sharah, Syria rejected U.S. President Trump's proposal on June 21, denying any military intervention in Lebanon. Speaking to an Emirati television station, al-Sharah clarified that Trump's remarks were "misread as Syria planning to invade Lebanon." He emphasized that Syria values Lebanon's security and stability, which are closely linked to Syria's own situation. Al-Sharah also called for an end to the conflict, stating that while Syria possesses multiple tools to exert positive influence within Lebanon, such actions depend on Lebanese consent.
