Taiwan Prosecutors Seek Detention of Three Over Nvidia Server Smuggling on May 21

According to Bloomberg, Taiwan prosecutors are seeking to detain three people on May 21 for allegedly using forged documents to export Nvidia AI servers to China. The servers, made by US-based Super Micro, were reportedly purchased in Taiwan and shipped with false declarations despite being tightly controlled exports. The Keelung District Prosecutors Office said the suspects knew the servers were controlled items and conspired to circumvent restrictions. This marks Taiwan's first public crackdown on alleged AI chip smuggling. The operation involved approximately 50 servers.
