Tencent Q1 Revenue Hits 196.46B Yuan, Up 9% YoY; CEO Highlights AI Breakthroughs

According to Tencent’s Q1 earnings report released on May 13, the company reported revenue of 196.46 billion yuan, up 9% year-over-year, with Non-IFRS operating profit reaching 75.63 billion yuan, also up 9%. CEO Ma Huateng stated: “We achieved significant breakthroughs in new AI products and continued to empower core business growth with AI. Our restructured AI R&D team rebuilt AI infrastructure and deployed the Hy3 preview model, which demonstrates leading performance at comparable parameter scales while maintaining practicality and cost efficiency.” Tencent disclosed that Hy3 preview, released and open-sourced in April, saw token consumption surge over 10 times that of the previous generation, with code and agent scenarios growing especially sharply. The model topped OpenRouter’s weekly rankings for three consecutive weeks through May 11.
