Tencent's Tang Daosheng: AI is Marathon, Not Sprint; Launches 20+ Agent Tools on June 5

According to Tencent executive Tang Daosheng, interviewed by Pauahui News on June 5, the company's AI development involves different speeds at different stages, but represents "a marathon, not a sprint." Tang addressed market concerns about Tencent's pace in generative AI, noting that multiple business units may advance at varying rates.

Tang highlighted AI researcher Yao Shunyu's impact since joining Tencent: improved data quality over raw scale, tighter model-product collaboration, and simplified technical architecture. Hunyuan 3's performance reflects these changes, with 80% of Yuanbao users now using the latest version. Tencent also unveiled over 20 vertical AI agent tools at its conference, positioning WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy as flagship products.
