Tesla Stock Rebounds 1% Premarket After Q2 Selloff; Ark Invest Buys $51.2M in Shares

According to Ark Investment Management's daily trading disclosure, the firm bought $51.2 million worth of Tesla shares across four ETFs on Thursday, as Tesla (TSLA) stock recovered 1% in premarket trading on Friday following a 15% plunge after the company's Q2 earnings report. The purchases spanned ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) with 98,782 shares, ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ) with 30,396 shares, ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) with 21,048 shares, and ARK Space Exploration & Innovation ETF (ARKX) with 9,925 shares.

Meanwhile, Tesla influencer AleXandra Merz forecast on X that a SpaceX merger announcement could occur within two to three weeks, citing upcoming SpaceX lockup expirations beginning August 6, when 20% of eligible shares become sellable. Musk acknowledged "more and more overlap" with SpaceX on Tesla's Q2 earnings call but stated any merger would require a formal process.
