According to BlockBeats, Tether is launching native USDT on the Bitcoin network today (July 7) via the RGB v0.11.1 protocol, with UTEXO handling commercial issuance and distribution. This marks USDT's first return to Bitcoin's mainchain since 2014, when it originally launched via the Omni protocol. UTEXO co-founder Viktor Ihnatiuk stated the company has secured Tether's support to drive the Bitcoin-native USDT rollout. Users will be able to hold USDT directly via native Bitcoin addresses and transact through RGB-compatible Lightning Network wallets.
