Trump Says He'd Be 'Honoured' to Meet Iran's New Supreme Leader Three Months After US Strike Kills His Family

US President Donald Trump said on May 4 that he would be 'honoured' to meet Iran's new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, three months after a US military operation killed his predecessor and family members. The US and Israel launched strikes on Iranian sites on February 28, resulting in the death of former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his wife, and child. Mojtaba, who was seriously injured in the strikes, has since assumed control of Iran.
