According to TSMC, the world's largest semiconductor foundry completed structural safety inspections at its Kumamoto, Japan facility on July 28 following a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. The company confirmed structural safety and is gradually resuming operations. TSMC stated that all personnel safety was confirmed, though some construction work has been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure. Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary reported no damage to the Kumamoto TSMC facility as of the statement.
