UK HMRC Recovers Over 8 Million Pounds in Crypto Tax Through Settlements With 502 Investors

According to the Financial Times, the UK's tax authority HMRC has recovered over 8 million pounds in unpaid taxes from cryptocurrency investors over three years through settlements with 502 crypto investors, the authority announced on July 23. In the 2024/25 tax year, 280 investors settled with HMRC, paying a combined 3.5 million pounds. The 2025/26 tax year saw 222 settlements totaling approximately 4.8 million pounds.
