UK Unemployment Falls to 4.9% in May, Beats 5% Forecast; 147K Jobs Added

According to the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), the unemployment rate from March to May fell to 4.9%, beating market expectations of 5.0%. The number of workers increased by 147,000, surpassing the forecast of 85,000. Average wage growth, excluding bonuses, rose 3.4% year-over-year, in line with expectations.
