U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yields Rise 1.70bp to 4.497% on July 7 as Iran Missile Attacks Lift Oil Prices

According to Yonhap Infomax, U.S. Treasury yields climbed on July 7 as oil prices surged following reports of Iranian missile attacks on merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The 10-year yield rose 1.70 basis points to 4.497%, while the 2-year yield increased 1.20bp to 4.137% and the 30-year yield jumped 1.80bp to 5.011%. Iran fired at least two missiles at commercial ships, with no casualties reported but significant damage to both vessels, according to U.S. Axios. WTI crude August futures climbed 1.50% to $69.61 per barrel, pushing Treasury yields higher as energy costs pressed bond markets.
