U.S. Consumer Confidence Drops to 90.8 in July, Spot Gold Trades at $4,029/oz

According to Kitco News, the Consumer Confidence Index fell to 90.8 in July, below economists' consensus forecast of 92.3 and down from June's revised reading of 92.2, the Conference Board announced on Tuesday. The Present Situation Index declined by 3.6 points to 114.9 for its third consecutive monthly decline, while the Expectations Index remained unchanged at 74.7. In response, spot gold traded at $4,029.86 per ounce, down 1.14% on the daily chart.
