U.S. Crypto Bill Clarity Act Faces Final Ethics Test as Trump to Meet Republicans on Thursday

According to The Block and Politico reporting, President Trump is scheduled to meet Thursday afternoon with Senate Republicans and White House advisers to resolve ethics provisions that have stalled the Clarity Act, a landmark federal crypto regulation bill. The provision would limit how U.S. officials can financially benefit from digital assets while serving in office.

The House passed its version of the Clarity Act a year ago, but negotiations have been blocked over ethics language. Senate Majority Leader John Thune aims to bring the bill to the Senate floor before the Aug. 7 recess, with the House reconvening July 24. Democrats have signaled they lack support for current bill text without stronger ethics provisions. Rep. William Timmons stated lawmakers are targeting completion before November elections, saying "We're going to get it done."
