According to Russian UN ambassador Vasiliy Nebenzia on May 26, the United States denied a visa to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov for a UN Security Council meeting. Nebenzia stated that the move violates the Agreement between the United Nations and the United States regarding the Headquarters of the United Nations. Alimov had planned to attend the meeting.
