U.S. Stock Market Opens Mixed; Chip Stocks Slide Up to 6.7% on July 7

The U.S. stock market opened on July 7 with mixed signals: the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.09%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.22% and the Nasdaq fell 0.6%.

Chip stocks extended their pullback, with SanDisk (SNDK.O) down 6.5%, Western Digital (WDC.O) down 6.7%, and Micron Technology (MU.O) down 6.07%. SpaceX (SPCX.O) fell 1.7% after formally being added to the Nasdaq-100 Index.
