U.S. Wholesale Inventories Rise 0.1% in May, Miss 0.3% Forecast

According to the U.S. Commerce Department, wholesale inventories in May increased 0.1% month-over-month on a seasonally adjusted basis to $941.76 billion, below market expectations of 0.3% growth. Year-over-year, inventories rose 4.0%. Wholesale sales climbed 3.4% from April to $817.41 billion, up 18.1% compared to May 2025. The inventory-to-sales ratio declined to 1.15 from 1.31 a year earlier.
