According to the Chinese Commerce Ministry, the U.S. will not renew the Hong Kong emergency status under Executive Order 13936 after its July 14 expiration. The Commerce Ministry spokesman confirmed that the order will terminate following the recent U.S.-China Madrid trade consultations, where the U.S. committed to ending the emergency declaration. China expressed appreciation for this action as an important step in fulfilling the bilateral trade consensus.
