According to CoinDesk, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s approximately $4 token swap was sandwich attacked by known MEV bot jaredfromsubway.eth in block 24993038. Buterin exchanged 26,544 XDB tokens worth ~$3.86 for 0.00197 ETH (~$4.56). The bot subsequently deployed ~$1.14 million WETH across SushiSwap and Uniswap V2 to manipulate prices around the trade. After deducting $5.14 in gas fees, the bot incurred a net loss on the attack.
