Walmart International Sales Rise 18% in Q1, Powered by Flipkart Minutes Quick Commerce Expansion

GateNews

According to The Economic Times, Walmart's International segment net sales rose 18% year-over-year to $35.1 billion in the quarter ended April 30, driven by rapid expansion of Flipkart Minutes, its quick commerce service. Ecommerce sales grew 27%, while advertising revenue increased 32%, both boosted by Flipkart's performance.

Flipkart Minutes operates over 800 microfulfillment centers and delivers groceries and household goods in under 13 minutes on average across more than 30 Indian cities. The service launched in August 2024 and now competes with Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Amazon in India's quick commerce market.
