Wise Refiles for U.S. National Trust Bank Charter Under GENIUS Act After OCC Rejection

According to Cointelegraph, Wise plans to reapply for a national trust bank charter with the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) under the GENIUS Act framework this week, following the agency's rejection of its previous application. The OCC cited Wise's failure to demonstrate adequate anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) compliance systems, as well as other illicit financial activity risks, as reasons for the denial.
