x402 Launches Batch Settlement for AI Agents, Cuts Costs to Fractions of a Cent

According to Foresight News, developer jnix.base.eth announced that x402 has launched batch settlement functionality, enabling AI agents to manage funds on-chain and initiate payments via off-chain credentials. Multiple payment requests can be packed into a single on-chain transaction at minimal cost, typically fractions of a cent. The feature currently supports TypeScript and Go, with Python support coming soon.

Each payment in batch settlement can have different amounts, with per-transaction caps for variable-cost scenarios such as inference and computation. The protocol supports any ERC-20 token, not limited to stablecoins, with a third-party intermediary handling deposits, settlements, and refunds.
