Xiaomi Won't Pass Memory Cost Increases to Consumers, CEO Says at Earnings Call

GateNews
According to CEO Lu Wei-bing at Xiaomi's earnings call on May 26, the company's smartphones maintained strong performance despite industry headwinds: global market share ranked in the top three for 23 consecutive quarters, with both average selling prices and overseas prices hitting record highs, and phone gross margin exceeding market expectations. Addressing the current storage cost cycle, Lu stated the company will not simply pass memory price increases to consumers, instead balancing scale and profitability through product matrix upgrades and software optimization. Xiaomi plans to release a new-generation operating system in July or August.
