According to He Xiaopeng, Xpeng's chairman and CEO, at an earnings call on May 28, the company plans to complete mass production of Robotaxi and humanoid robots this year. He Xiaopeng stated that Xpeng is undergoing a transformation from an electric vehicle manufacturer to a physical AI company, with these two products serving as new drivers for revenue and profit growth.
For Robotaxi, Xpeng aims to launch driverless passenger service in Guangzhou in Q3 2026, with GX vehicles equipped with full-redundant hardware already undergoing L4 testing on public roads. The company's next-generation IRON humanoid robot will enter mass production by year-end, with commercial deliveries to Chinese and overseas customers beginning in 2027. He emphasized that once robots enter mass production, hardware and AI model revenues will become major contributors to Xpeng's profit growth starting next year.
