According to SemiAnalysis analyst Ray Wang in a CNBC interview on July 13, Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) is expected to capture approximately 10% of the global DRAM market this year, emerging as a formidable competitor. While its conventional memory technology lags Samsung and SK Hynix by about three years, and HBM capabilities by three to four years, the Chinese chipmaker is positioned to expand its domestic market share amid growing AI demand and overseas HBM export restrictions. YMTC's upcoming IPO is expected to be the most closely watched semiconductor listing in China this year.
