Zinedine Zidane Appointed France Head Coach on July 28, Replacing Deschamps After 14 Years

According to the French Football Federation, on July 28, Zinedine Zidane was appointed head coach of France's national men's football team. The 54-year-old legendary French footballer replaces Didier Deschamps, who stepped down following the World Cup.

Deschamps coached France for 14 years starting from 2012, leading the team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup title. As a 1998 World Cup champion and 1998 Ballon d'Or winner, Zidane has long pursued a role coaching the national team.
